Brand Identity &Logo Studies.

Logo Design · Visual Identity · Typography · Concept Exploration

CREATIVE PRINCIPLE

A logo should communicate character before a single sentence is read.

OVERVIEW

Exploring identity through
form, type and contrast.

A collection of independently developed visual identity concepts created across different styles, audiences and applications.

The work explores minimalist wordmarks, experimental typography, energetic gaming identities and character-led branding while experimenting with hierarchy, composition, colour and visual personality.

These studies are intentionally varied. The objective is not to establish one repeated design style, but to explore how different visual systems can communicate different brand personalities.

SELECTED WORK

Four different visual directions.

Each study explores a different relationship between typography, illustration, composition and brand personality.

The Unknowns red and white stacked wordmark
01
MINIMAL WORDMARK

The Unknowns

A stacked typographic identity built around strong contrast, compressed geometry and a deliberately unconventional word arrangement.

The black, white and red palette keeps the identity minimal while giving the wordmark a strong visual presence.

Experimental turquoise The Unknowns poster identity
02
EXPERIMENTAL TYPOGRAPHY

The Unknowns — Poster Exploration

An expressive variation of the identity exploring layered typography, framing, texture and elements that deliberately break beyond the defined composition.

The concept was developed around the idea that some ideas do not naturally fit within conventional boundaries.

Recoil X gaming identity
03
GAMING / TECHNOLOGY

Recoil X

A high-energy gaming identity combining metallic typography, directional movement and high-contrast visual effects.

The design explores a more aggressive visual language suited to gaming, competitive products and performance-focused technology branding.

04
CHARACTER / FOOD BRANDING

Ladle Chili Pot

A playful food identity developed around a character-led concept combining illustration with bold, highly visible typography.

The bright colour palette and exaggerated lettering create a more informal and approachable personality than the other identity studies.

05

DESIGN EXPLORATION

Different identities require different visual languages.

TYPOGRAPHY

Wordmarks

Exploring letter scale, alignment, spacing and unconventional arrangements to establish visual character.

COMPOSITION

Visual Hierarchy

Balancing text, illustration, negative space and supporting graphic elements within each identity.

COLOUR

Contrast

Using restrained or expressive palettes depending on the personality and intended audience of the concept.

FORM

Geometry

Combining simple shapes and typographic forms to create recognisable structures without unnecessary complexity.

CHARACTER

Illustration

Exploring mascot-led identities where illustration becomes the primary source of personality and recognition.

APPLICATION

Audience Fit

Adapting visual language to the intended context rather than applying the same aesthetic to every brand.

OUTCOME

Different brands.
Different voices.

The collection demonstrates experimentation across minimalist, expressive, technology-oriented and character-driven visual identities.

The focus is on understanding how typography, colour, composition and illustration can be adjusted to create a distinct personality for each concept rather than forcing every identity into the same visual system.
